Patna: The police have arrested Prakriti Anand, also known as Aarush or Pushkar, from his village in Bachhwara in Begusarai, who is a suspect in the murder of Harsh Raj, a student of BN College, beaten to death on the law campus of Patna University on May 27.
The arrest was made following a tip-off from Patna Police. Aarush has been brought to Patna for interrogation as authorities continue to search for the remaining two suspects.
Following Harsh’s murder, a case was filed against six named individuals. Under police pressure, the third suspect, Ravish Kumar, also known as Rahul, surrendered in court. Kumar, the son of Indal Prasad from Atri, will be remanded for questioning.
SDPO Patna City, Sharat RS, stated that police are actively searching for two suspects, Mayank from Triveniganj, Supaul, and Shivam from Madhepura, both of whom are currently absconding. If they do not surrender, attachment warrants will be issued against them.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to investigate this case arrested Chandan Yadav of Amhara on May 28, identifying him as the facilitator of the crime. Another arrest followed on May 30, when Aman Patel of Maner was apprehended. Patel had an altercation with Harsh during a dandiya night event in October last year.
