
Jehanabad/Patna: Three people, including a 10-year-old boy, died on the spot and at least a dozen others were seriously injured after a bus carrying wedding guests collided head-on with a truck near Lodipur on the Patna-Gaya National Highway on Saturday.
The crash occurred when the bus, returning from Datmai village in Patna district, was en route to Jehanabad to drop off guests from a wedding procession. It collided with a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction near Lodipur, causing a massive impact that shook the surrounding area.
Local residents rushed to the scene upon hearing the crash. Among those who died instantly were Prince (10), Ayodhya Ram, and Chintamani — all residents of Lala Bharsara village under the Paliganj police station area.
With the help of villagers, the injured were taken to Sadar Hospital in Jehanabad. However, due to the critical nature of several injuries, at least six people were referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for urgent treatment. The truck driver was also seriously injured and has been transferred to Patna for further care.
Authorities are investigating the incident, and the condition of several victims remains critical.
