Tourism Secretary Reviews Development Plans of Bihar State Tourism Corporation

Patna: Tourism Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh held a review meeting on Thursday at the Tourism Directorate Auditorium to assess the ongoing plans of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation. He emphasized the need for proper maintenance of tourist infrastructure, including hotels, bungalows, cafeterias, restaurants, transport facilities, and ropeways. The Secretary directed officials to create a detailed action plan for these facilities and ensure continuous monitoring of revenue-generating resources.
During the meeting, the Secretary instructed the Managing Director of the Tourism Corporation to expedite the reconstruction of Hotel Kautilya Vihar in Patna. He also stressed the importance of regular physical inspections of all hotels operated by the corporation to address any issues faced by tourists. Additionally, a feedback system was proposed to gather responses from visitors. He urged the corporation to complete all pending appointments at the earliest.
While reviewing development projects, the Secretary stated that any tourism-related work in monastery or temple complexes must receive prior approval from the Religious Trust Board. He also directed officials to finalize the formal process for constructing Patna Haat and announced plans for a review meeting on the construction of new ropeways across the state.
The meeting was attended by Tourism Director cum Special Secretary Udayan Mishra, Managing Director of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Nandkishore, General Manager Chandan Chauhan, and other officials and employees of the corporation. The discussions focused on streamlining tourism development efforts to enhance Bihar’s tourism infrastructure and visitor experience.
