Traffic Police Fine Vehicles of 23 BJP Leaders for Illegal Parking
Patna: The Patna Traffic Police issued challans to 23 vehicles belonging to BJP leaders for causing a traffic jam by parking on the main road outside the BJP office on Veerchand Patel Path. The vehicles were parked during a meeting of the BJP Legislature Party on Tuesday evening, resulting in each violator being fined ₹1,000.
Traffic SP Aparajit Lohan stated that the action was taken to address congestion caused by the vehicles parked in a no-parking zone. Despite repeated announcements and efforts to clear the area, several vehicles remained obstructing the road. The traffic police used a crane to tow the vehicles and documented the violations with photographs before issuing fines.
Mohania MLA Sangeeta Kumari, one of the violators, acknowledged her driver’s mistake and subsequently dismissed him. She explained, “The driver parked the car on the main road and disappeared, leading to a traffic jam. I have taken action by firing the driver.”
This is not the first instance of such action, as similar fines were imposed on vehicles parked outside the RJD office on September 19. The Traffic SP emphasised that such measures will continue to enforce traffic rules, irrespective of whether the violators are VIPs or ordinary citizens.
