Traffic Restrictions in Patna for Valentine’s Day

Patna: Patna traffic police have announced special traffic arrangements for Valentine’s Day on Friday, with restrictions in place from noon until congestion eases. Adjustments have also been made to parking regulations, and officers have been instructed to patrol their designated areas to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Valentine’s Day typically sees large gatherings of young people at parks, restaurants, cinemas, temples, and Patna Zoo. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Avkash Kumar has directed officials to monitor the traffic situation closely and keep trolleys and cranes on standby to facilitate diversions if necessary.

Key traffic restrictions:

  • If congestion increases on Bailey Road, vehicles from Dumra Chowki will not be allowed towards Patna Zoo and will instead be diverted towards the airport or made to take a U-turn.
  • If traffic pressure rises on Bailey Road, auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws will be restricted west of Punaichak traffic post and redirected to Mangles Road.
  • Private vehicles will not be permitted towards Eco Park beyond Circular Road and Karpuri Golambar, except for government and official personnel vehicles.
  • Parking will be prohibited near Patna Zoo’s Gate No. 1, Rajvanshi Nagar Hanuman Temple, and the main road near Kumhrar Park.

To enforce these measures, traffic police personnel will be deployed in two shifts: the first from 7am to 4pm and the second from 1pm to 10pm.
