Tragedy in Patna: Man Dies by Suicide

Patna: In a deeply tragic turn of events in Raghopur village in Bihta, a man has died by suicide just three weeks after his wife took her own life in the same room. Police have confirmed that 30-year-old Mohammad Javed Alam was found dead in his home late on Saturday night.

Javed’s wife, Farhan, died by suicide on the night of March 30. According to local police and family members, the couple had been experiencing prolonged domestic strife, with frequent arguments escalating in recent months. The couple had been married for four years and had a two-year-old daughter.

The Bihta police station has taken charge of the investigation. Station House Officer Krishna Kumar told “The young man has died by suicide in the same room where his wife also ended her life. Early findings suggest a long-standing dispute between the two.”

Following the discovery of Javed’s body, the police have informed the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), and a detailed forensic investigation is underway. His body has been sent for post-mortem.

According to relatives, Javed had been visibly distressed since his wife’s death. “He had withdrawn from everyone, stopped speaking even to his family,” one family member said. “We feared for his mental health, but we never imagined this.”

Farhan, who was from Sadisopur in the same police station area, reportedly took her own life amid unresolved familial tensions. The exact nature of the couple’s disagreements remains unclear, though relatives acknowledge recurring domestic disputes.
