Triple Murder at Bihar’s Ara Junction: Father, Daughter Shot Dead in Public, Gunman Kills Himself

Ara/ Patna: A man allegedly shot dead a father and daughter before taking his own life at Ara Junction railway station in Bihar on Tuesday evening, triggering panic among passengers.

The incident occurred on a pedestrian overbridge connecting station platforms. Witnesses reported chaos as gunshots rang out, sending commuters fleeing.

Police identified the deceased as Anil Kumar, a resident of Bhilai village in the Udwant Nagar police station area, and his daughter Ayushi Kumari, also known as Jiya. The assailant, Aman Kumar, the son of Shatrughan Singh from the same police station area in Bhojpur district, allegedly ambushed them as they arrived at the station to catch a train.

Authorities suspect a personal dispute linked to a love affair, though no official confirmation has been made.

After firing at the father and daughter, Aman reportedly turned the gun on himself, dying at the scene. Railway police arrived swiftly, securing the area and sending the bodies for post-mortem at Sadar Hospital.

A large crowd gathered at the station in the aftermath, with heightened security as investigations continued.
