Union Minister Manjhi Reviews Gaya Airport Expansion in High-Level Meeting

Gaya: Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi chaired a meeting of the Airport Advisory Committee on Sunday to discuss the expansion of Gaya airport, new air routes, cargo operations, and passenger facilities. The meeting, attended by Belaganj MLA Manorama Devi, Gaya district magistrate Dr Thiyagarajan S.M, airport director Bangajit Saha, Magadh Industries Association president Dr Anoop Kumar Kedia, and Hotel Association Union secretary Sanjay Singh, focused on upgrading the airport to international standards.

The airport director presented a blueprint detailing current infrastructure and future development plans. Manjhi reviewed the proposals and directed officials to take necessary steps to implement them. The committee also explored strategies to increase international flights and enhance cargo facilities.

A key issue discussed was the expansion of air services from Gaya to Delhi, a longstanding demand. The committee reached a consensus on the matter, and steps are being taken to implement the expansion. Manjhi emphasised that fares on the Gaya-Delhi route should be aligned with those between Patna and Delhi.

At the conclusion of the meeting, airport director Bangajit Saha expressed gratitude to the attendees and assured that further discussions would continue to improve Gaya airport’s infrastructure and services.
