US Consul General Discusses Investment Opportunities in Bihar with Industry Minister
Patna: The Consul General of the United States in Kolkata, Kathy Giles Diaz, met Bihar’s Industry Minister, Nitish Mishra, on Monday to explore investment opportunities and industrial collaboration in the state. The meeting, held in Patna, focused on Bihar’s economic growth, industrial policies, and potential avenues for US companies.
During the discussions, senior officials from the Bihar government provided an overview of the state’s industrial landscape, highlighting major ongoing projects and the status of foreign investments. The conversation also covered Bihar’s education sector, infrastructure development, and policy frameworks aimed at fostering business growth.
The Consul General was briefed on existing foreign investments, including those by multinational corporations such as Coca-Cola and PepsiCo, and the potential for further engagement with global industries. She expressed appreciation for Bihar’s growing economy and showed interest in strengthening educational ties between the US and the state.
Industry Minister Nitish Mishra emphasized Bihar’s evolving business environment, stating, “Bihar has immense potential, and perceptions about the state are changing rapidly. The future belongs to Bihar, and we are fully prepared to welcome industrial investments.”
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Nikhil Dhanraj Nippanikar, Director of Industries and Handloom & Silk; Shekhar Anand, Director of Technical Development; along with Sangita Dey Chanda, Economic Specialist, and Deepa Dutta, Manager of Media & Mass Communication from the US Consulate.
