Verbal Spat between Rohini Acharya and Rajiv Pratap Rudy Raises Eyebrows in Battleground Saran
Chhapra: Tensions flared in Bihar’s political arena on Thursday as Dr. Rohini Acharya, the Rashtriya Janata Dal’s (RJD) candidate for the Saran constituency, ignited controversy by referring to her opponent, sitting Member of Parliament Rajiv Pratap Rudy, as a “stupid man.” The incident unfolded during an interaction with party workers at the RJD’s district office in Chapra.
In response, Rudy addressed Acharya’s remarks, attributing them to the impatience of individuals unaccustomed to the rigors of public life. “Children who do not have the habit of going out in the sun and roaming around become irritable. We forgive them for this,” he remarked. Rudy went on to underscore his electoral track record, emphasizing victories in previous elections and his tenure in the Rajya Sabha.
Acharya’s comments earlier in the day underscored the charged atmosphere of the electoral campaign. “See how much blessings and love the people here are giving. This is a stupid man who is running away again and again. Comes once in five years for face polishing. Only a fool would leave this love and blessing and run away,” she remarked.
Reacting to the exchange, BJP General Secretary Vivek Kumar Singh criticized Acharya’s language and demeanor, suggesting it reflected a lack of understanding and decorum. “Rohini Acharya lacks knowledge and understanding. They have inherited bad language. It has been his family habit to make inappropriate comments and statements,” Singh remarked.
