Villagers Thwart Armed Robbery Attempt in Muzaffarpur, One Suspect Caught
Muzaffarpur: In a dramatic turn of events, three armed robbers attempted to loot a Customer Service Point (CSP) in Muzaffarpur on Thursday morning. However, their plans were foiled when brave villagers confronted them, forcing the criminals to flee empty-handed.
The incident occurred at around 9:00 AM near Jamin Haat Bazaar in the Kudhni police station area. According to CSP operator Santosh Kumar, the miscreants arrived on an Apache motorcycle. While one stayed on the bike, the other two entered the CSP. One of the criminals pointed a gun at a customer, while the other attempted to rob the operator by taking a bag from him.
In a fortunate twist, the magazine of the criminal’s pistol fell out, causing a delay as he struggled to pick it up. Seizing this moment, the villagers courageously intervened. Despite the criminals firing two rounds in an attempt to intimidate them, the villagers managed to overpower one of the assailants and prevent the robbery.
Kudhni police station in-charge Ravi Prakash confirmed that the police arrived on the scene shortly after receiving the information at around 9:30 AM. The villagers had successfully apprehended one of the suspects, who sustained minor injuries and was subsequently admitted to a hospital. The police recovered weapons and shell casings from the scene.
CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, which is expected to aid the investigation. The authorities are currently searching for the remaining two suspects who managed to escape.
