Vimala College and Patna Women’s College Collaborate for National Webinar on Statistics

Patna: The Department of Statistics at Vimala College, Thrissur, in collaboration with Patna Women’s College, successfully hosted a two-day National Webinar on Sampling Techniques and Experimental Designs on 2 and 3 December 2024. The event brought together academicians, researchers, and students to explore essential statistical methodologies and experimental designs.

The first session, held on 2 December, focused on “Fundamentals of Designing a Statistical Survey,” with special emphasis on sample surveys and the design of experiments. It was conducted by Viswas V Nadh, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Statistics at Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur. The second session, on 3 December, was led by Priyanka Singh, Assistant Professor at the University of Allahabad, who spoke on “Sampling Methodologies and Its Applications.”

Organised under the guidance of patrons Beena Jose and M. Rashmi A. C., the event’s conveners, Jismi Mathew and Moon, and organising Secretary Divya P. R., ensured seamless coordination. Faculty members from both colleges played a key role in the success of the webinar. Participants registered online and attended the sessions via Google Meet, engaging in meaningful discussions and knowledge-sharing.

The webinar highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing statistical research and analysis. The initiative reflects the shared commitment of Vimala College and Patna Women’s College to academic excellence and fostering innovative learning experiences.
