Voluntary Blood Donation Camp at Bhakhtiyarpur Engineering College Collects 103 Units

Patna: A voluntary blood donation camp was organised by the IGIMS Blood Centre at Bhakhtiyarpur Engineering College (BEU) from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. The camp witnessed an overwhelming response, with 103 units of blood collected during the drive. Five donors were deferred due to medical reasons.
Dr. Shailesh, Incharge of the Blood Bank, expressed satisfaction with the success of the camp. He highlighted the enthusiasm of students and staff who participated in large numbers, emphasising that the blood collected will be vital in saving the lives of poor and needy patients seeking help at IGIMS.
The Medical Superintendent of IGIMS, Dr. Manish Mandal, along with Dr. Bibhuti P. Sinha and Director Dr. Bindey Kumar, congratulated the team led by Dr. Shailesh for their efforts. They stressed the importance of organising similar camps in other colleges, both general and technical, to ensure the blood bank remains self-sufficient.
The initiative underscores IGIMS’s commitment to meeting the critical need for blood and fostering a culture of voluntary donation among students and staff in Bihar’s educational institutions.
