Weather Shifts in Bihar Bring Relief Amidst Forecasted Thunderstorms
Patna: Once again, Bihar finds itself under the sway of changing weather patterns, offering respite from the scorching heat as easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal sweep in. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts a likelihood of rain accompanied by thunderstorms across much of north Bihar come Tuesday. During this anticipated weather event, gusts of wind ranging from 40 to 50 kilometers per hour may accompany the thunder and lightning.
Araria district recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state, settling at 28.3 degrees C, while Dehri claimed the title of the hottest location with a sweltering 40 degrees C.
In response to the evolving weather dynamics, the IMD has issued yellow and orange alerts across various districts. Yellow alerts have been raised for Katihar, Purnia, Araria, Madhepura, Kishanganj, Supaul, and Saharsa, signaling caution. Meanwhile, a more serious orange alert has been issued for East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Muzaffarpur Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, and Madhubani districts.
As moist air drifts into Bihar from the Bay of Bengal, significant changes in weather patterns are anticipated. Cloud cover is expected to increase across many districts from the evening of May 5 onward, accompanied by a rise in moisture levels. Consequently, maximum temperatures are forecasted to decrease. Residents across the state, including Patna, should prepare for potential weather fluctuations from May 6 to May 9.
