Westerly Winds Bring Slight Dip in Temperatures Across Bihar

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that this pattern is likely to persist until the end of February.
Patna: The cold weather in Bihar has intensified due to the impact of a western disturbance, with the minimum temperature expected to drop by two to three degrees over the next two days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). However, no significant change is anticipated in the maximum temperature.
Meteorologists attribute the drop in night temperatures to strong westerly winds, which have heightened the chill across the state. Cold winds, blowing at speeds of 15 to 25 km/h, are influencing daytime conditions, although clear skies and bright sunshine are providing some relief during the day.
The maximum temperature across Bihar has fallen by one to two degrees compared with Wednesday, but it remains above normal. The IMD has ruled out any major weather changes in the coming days, though the cold spell is likely to persist.
The fluctuating temperatures have led to a rise in seasonal ailments such as colds, coughs, fevers, headaches, and stomach issues. Mornings and nights remain chilly, while daytime temperatures offer some respite, making it challenging for people to adjust to the shifting weather conditions.
