‘With Mahakaal on My Side, Kaal Can Do No Harm,’ Writes Strongman Anant Singh After Gunfire Incident
Patna: Around 60 rounds of gunfire were exchanged on Wednesday between supporters of former Mokama MLA and strongman Anant Singh and gangsters identified as Sonu-Monu. The incident occurred in Nauranga village under the Panchmahala police station area of Mokama, with Anant Singh reportedly standing just a few steps away from his supporters during the chaos.
Following the clash, police teams from Mokama, Panchmahala, Barh, and neighboring stations swiftly arrived at the scene. Rural SP Vikram Sihag has been stationed in the area since Wednesday night, and the village of Nauranga, along with nearby areas, has been heavily patrolled, effectively transforming the region into a police cantonment.
Rural SP Sihag confirmed that “10-15 rounds of bullets were fired,” adding that police recovered three bullet casings from pistols and katta (country-made firearms). Three separate cases have been registered in connection with the incident.
In response to the events, the former MLA stated, “My men went to Sonu-Monu, asking them why they create trouble. Instead of responding, they started firing, and those who went to rescue fired back in retaliation.”
Adding to the tension, Anant Singh posted a cryptic message on his social media account, X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Jinke Sath Ho Mahakaal, Uska Kya Bigadega Kaal (What harm can Kaal do to those who have Mahakaal with them?)”
