World Meditation Day Celebrated at Bihar Agricultural University
Sabour/ Bhagalpur: Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour, celebrated the first World Meditation Day with enthusiasm in its main auditorium on Saturday. The event saw active participation from students, scientists, and non-academic staff, focusing on the significance of meditation and pranayama in daily life.
The program was conducted by Dr. Shambhu Prasad, Academic In-charge of Bihar Agricultural College, and Dr. Gayatri Kumari, Assistant Professor-cum-Junior Scientist and Hostel Superintendent of the Girls Hostel. Organized under the guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar Sah, Dean (Agriculture), and Dr. S. N. Rai, Associate Dean-cum-Principal, the event featured an expert team from Art of Living, including Ritu, Vatsala, and Saket, who led interactive sessions.
The Art of Living experts emphasized meditation’s role in stress management and introduced various pranayamas to improve concentration. They also answered students’ questions about enhancing energy levels and academic performance. The session concluded with an announcement about future meditation-based workshops aimed at improving mental and physical health.
In a message, Vice Chancellor Dr. D. R. Singh highlighted the benefits of meditation and pranayama, stating that such practices promote mental peace and emotional balance. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to the holistic development of its students and staff through similar initiatives.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Shambhu Prasad and a group photo capturing the participants’ collective spirit.
