Patna: The Meteorological Centre in Patna has forecast a significant shift in Bihar’s weather from Sunday, with thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall expected across several districts between April 7 and 11. A yellow alert has been issued for parts of the state, cautioning residents about possible strong winds and lightning activity.

According to the department, Kishanganj, Araria, and Supaul may experience thunderstorms accompanied by wind speeds of 40–50 km/h on Monday. The alert also includes predictions of light rain in Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Vaishali, Shivhar, and Samastipur.

While the capital Patna and adjoining areas are likely to see partly cloudy skies, the rising humidity levels could result in discomfort, especially during evening hours. A change in weather conditions for Patna is expected starting Tuesday, with the influence of Western Disturbance over the western Himalayas and moist easterly winds contributing to increased atmospheric moisture.

Rise in Temperature Across Bihar

Even as rain is forecast in northern districts, several regions in north-central and north-east Bihar may receive 10–30 mm of rainfall, the weather department said. On the occasion of Ram Navami, a noticeable rise in maximum temperatures was recorded in 22 cities across the state, further intensifying the midday heat.
