Patna: Mahavir Mandir in Sawan is buzzing with excitement because 1000 devotees have already reserved their spots for the special ritual of Rudrabhishek during this holy month. Sawan, beginning on July 22 and culminating on August 19 this year, holds special significance for devotees seeking blessings through this traditional offering.
Acharya Kishore Kunal, Secretary of Mahavir Mandir Nyas, emphasized the importance of Rudrabhishek during Sawan, highlighting the meticulous arrangements made to accommodate the devotees’ spiritual aspirations. The temple boasts three Shivlings, each offering devotees the opportunity to perform Rudrabhishek. The ancient Shivling on the ground floor and the glass-enclosed Shivlings on the first and second floors are focal points for this revered ritual.
Bookings for Rudrabhishek are available in hourly slots, spanning from 5 am to 10 pm on the ground and second floors, and from 12 noon to 10 pm on the first floor, where idols of Hanumanji and Shivling near the sanctum sanctorum of Ram Darbar are situated. Demand for Rudrabhishek has surged, with all slots filled on Mondays, Nag Panchami, and Trayodashi Tithi, totaling 44 bookings per day.
To facilitate further spiritual engagement, Mahavir Mandir offers Jalabhishek rituals on the Shivling near the main sanctum sanctorum from 5 am to 11 am daily, without the need for prior booking. Additionally, 11 devotees have received receipts for Mahamrityunjay Jaap during Sawan, underscoring the diverse ways devotees seek blessings during this holy period.
