108 Dengue Cases Confirmed in Muzaffarpur, Authorities Step Up Anti-Larvae Efforts

16 New Dengue Cases Reported in Muzaffarpur Over Four Days, Total Rises to 124

Muzaffarpur: The outbreak of dengue fever continues to escalate across Muzaffarpur, with the urban areas of the district being hit particularly hard. The health department has shifted into alert mode as the number of confirmed dengue cases rose to 108 yesterday.

In response, authorities have ramped up preventive measures, including continuous fogging and the spraying of anti-larvae medicine in affected areas. Over a dozen patients are currently receiving treatment at the SKMCH Medical College, and the situation is being closely monitored.

ACMO Dr. Chandrashekhar Prasad reassured the public, stating, “We have made complete arrangements to combat the spread of dengue. Hotspots across the district have been identified, and preventive actions are underway. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported so far, but we remain vigilant.”

Additionally, health officials are gathering patient information, including travel history, to track the spread of the virus. Teams have been deployed to carry out preventive efforts, and a letter has been sent to the Municipal Corporation administration to address the rising number of cases in urban areas.

The district administration is urging residents to remain cautious, especially in dengue-prone zones, and to take necessary precautions to prevent further transmission.
