Patna: In a significant reshuffle within Bihar’s bureaucracy, the state government has announced the promotion of 14 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers from the 2010 batch. A notification to this effect was issued by the General Administration Department on Saturday.
The promoted officers will now serve at the Secretary/Secretary level within the Indian Administrative Service. They will be eligible for the benefit of the promotion pay scale in the Secretary grade from the date they assume charge on or after January 1, 2026.
In a related development, ADG Kundan Krishnan has also been assigned an additional charge, though the specific details of this new responsibility were not immediately released.
This round of promotions is a routine administrative exercise, recognizing the service and experience of these senior bureaucrats as they move into more elevated roles within the state’s governance structure.
