17 IPS Officers Transferred and Given Additional Charge in Bihar

Bihar’s Home Department has transferred 17 IPS officers, assigning additional charges to several, including top officials overseeing law and order and anti-terrorism efforts.

Patna: In a significant reshuffle within Bihar’s police department, 17 IPS officers have been transferred and assigned additional responsibilities. The Home Department issued the notification, detailing the transfers of 11 officers and the additional charges for 6 others.

Among those transferred, Pankaj Kumar Darad, the Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), has been appointed to head the Anti-Terrorist Squad in Patna, while retaining his responsibilities for Law and Order and the Special Surveillance Unit. Amit Kumar Jain, a 1996-batch officer, has been given the additional charge of the Prohibition department, in addition to his current role overseeing the Crime Investigation Department’s Vulnerable Classes division.

The reshuffle also includes officers like Rakesh Rathi, Ranjit Mishra, and Beena Kumari, who have been reassigned to new positions.
