32 Bihar Entrepreneurs Return Government-Allotted Land After Failing to Start Businesses

Patna: Bihar’s Industry Minister, Nitish Mishra, handed over cheques to 32 entrepreneurs who opted for the exit policy of the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA). These entrepreneurs had acquired land from BIADA for investment but were unable to commence production. Under the policy, they returned the allotted land, and BIADA reimbursed their amount after deducting applicable fees based on the lease period.

The event, held at Udyog Bhawan, was attended by BIADA Managing Director Kundan Kumar, BIADA Executive Director Chandrashekhar Singh, Bihar Industries Association President KPS Kesari, Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries President Subhash Patwari, and other prominent entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the event, Minister Mishra highlighted BIADA’s role in industrial development, stating that the organization and investors complement each other. He urged BIADA to actively attract more investors.

The minister emphasized that the exit policy benefits investors who, for various reasons, were unable to set up their units after land allotment. He noted that the reclaimed land would be reallocated to new industrial units, further boosting industrial growth in Bihar. Mishra added that the policy reinforces investor confidence in BIADA and the state’s industrial ecosystem.

Kundan Kumar, MD of BIADA, highlighted recent activities, programs, and the need for the exit policy. He stated that BIADA aims to establish new units on the unused industrial land returned by investors under Exit Policy 2025, which will boost industrial growth in Bihar.
