Patna: Bihar’s transport system will be further enhanced with the launch of 43 new deluxe buses, which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday at Ek Ane Marg. These buses will operate on various inter-regional routes across the state, aiming to improve public transport and provide smooth, accessible travel options for the people of Bihar.
Transport Secretary Sanjay Kumar Agarwal stated that these buses are part of the state’s initiative to offer affordable, safe, and high-quality transport services. The new buses are expected to strengthen connectivity, particularly in rural areas, and provide residents with a more convenient and comfortable travel experience. The buses will be operated by the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC).
The new fleet includes deluxe buses equipped with modern features such as two-by-two pushback seats, CCTV surveillance, public announcement systems, display boards, fire fighting equipment, and VLTD. BSRTC currently operates a total of 581 buses, including 166 CNG and 25 electric buses, and continues to expand its services with buses connecting major cities and towns across the region.
In addition to the 43 new buses, BSRTC runs 141 buses under the Public-Private Partnership scheme, and operates Volvo buses on routes such as Patna-Darbhanga-Ghaziabad and Bodh Gaya-Kathmandu. The new buses are part of a larger effort to improve transportation infrastructure and ensure safe and efficient travel for passengers across the state.
