Patna: The southwest monsoon is now actively influencing weather conditions across Bihar, bringing scattered rainfall and much-needed relief from humidity. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Patna has forecast partly cloudy skies with isolated showers over Patna and surrounding areas during the next 24 hours.
Heavy Rain Alert in Northern Bihar
The IMD has issued an orange alert for Kishanganj, warning of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder. Thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 km/h have also been predicted in Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Madhepura, Saharsa, Purnia, Khagaria, and Katihar districts.
Thunderstorm activity is expected to persist in various parts of the state until July 1, keeping residents on alert for lightning and sudden downpours.

On Wednesday afternoon, Patna city witnessed a sudden change in weather, with light showers and gusty winds bringing respite from muggy conditions. The city recorded 0.3 mm of rainfall, and wind speeds reached 31 km/h. The maximum temperature in Patna stood at 34.4°C, while the minimum was 27.8°C.
The highest rainfall in the state was recorded in Imamganj (Gayaji) with 108.4 mm in the last 24 hours, highlighting the sporadic yet intense nature of the showers.
