50% Discount on Movie Tickets to Boost Voter Turnout in Patna: Initiative Covers All Shows on June 1 and 2
Patna: As the seventh phase of voting approaches in Patna on June 1, the district administration has embarked on an innovative initiative to encourage voter participation. In a bid to increase voter turnout, voters will be rewarded with a 50 percent discount on movie tickets.
The discount will be applicable to all movie screenings on June 1 and 2, with voters required to present their ink-marked fingers post-voting to avail the concession.
Awareness campaigns have been launched across the region to inform voters about the initiative. Street plays are being organized in squares and streets to disseminate information and mobilize citizens to exercise their voting rights.
In a significant move to implement this initiative, Patna District Magistrate, Mr. Sharat Kapil Ashok, convened a meeting with cinema hall operators on Thursday. The meeting saw discussions on operationalizing the discount scheme for movie tickets. Present at the meeting were key officials including the Additional District Magistrate General, the District Public Relations Officer, and the Officer-in-charge General Branch.
The decision to offer discounts on movie tickets aims to incentivize voter participation and foster civic engagement during the upcoming elections.
