ED Questions IAS Officer Sanjeev Hans’s Wife and Brother-in-Law in Money Laundering Case
Patna: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) interrogated jailed IAS officer Sanjeev Hans’s wife, Harlavleen Hans (Mona Hans), and her brother, Guru Baltej, for nearly five hours on Friday in connection with a money laundering case. Both reportedly answered most questions with claims of ignorance.
Former MLA Gulab Yadav’s wife, Ambika Gulab Yadav, was also summoned for questioning but did not appear. On December 3, the ED had issued summons to Mona Hans, Ambika Gulab Yadav, and several others, instructing them to report within two days. Mona Hans, accompanied by her brother Guru Baltej, appeared before the ED on Friday.
A team of five ED officers sought detailed information from Mona Hans regarding Sanjeev Hans’s property holdings and sources of income. Â
Sanjeev Hans is alleged to have purchased a commercial plot in Mohali, valued at approximately ₹90 lakh, through a property dealer in Panchkula. Additionally, he is reported to own a luxurious villa in Kasauli. The Mohali plot was acquired in the name of Kamalkant Gupta.
Baltej was also questioned about a Mercedes car gifted by Sanjeev Hans and other assets. However, ED sources revealed that both Mona and Baltej avoided most queries or simply stated they were unaware.
Mona and Baltej exited the ED office at 5:30 PM, but officials indicated that additional questioning might follow. ED sources suggest that the investigation into Sanjeev Hans’s financial dealings is far from over.
