East Central Railway GM Reviews Coal Transportation and Ongoing Infrastructure Projects
Hajipur: Chhatrasal Singh, General Manager of East Central Railway (ECR), chaired a high-level meeting on Monday with officials from NTPC to discuss the smooth transportation of coal to thermal plants. The meeting, held at the railway headquarters in Hajipur, focused on ensuring the seamless delivery of coal, a critical component for energy production.
Following the discussion on coal transport, the General Manager turned his attention to the progress of several key construction projects under East Central Railway. These projects, being undertaken by IRCON, RVNL, and RITES, are central to the region’s infrastructure development. Singh, accompanied by Additional General Manager Amarendra Kumar and other senior officers, emphasized the importance of timely completion for the ongoing works.
In his address, Singh highlighted that accelerating infrastructure development remains a top priority. He called for intensive and regular monitoring of the ongoing construction projects to ensure all are completed within their deadlines.
The meeting included a review of several major projects, including the 92.79 km-long Sonnagar-Garhwa Road Third Line and the 42.2 km Neura-Daniyawa New Rail Line. Progress was also assessed on the 69 km Jaynagar-Bardibas line and the Kiul-Gaya doubling project. Additionally, the remaining work on the Nawada-Tilaiya section of the 123 km-long project is expected to be completed soon.
Singh also discussed a range of other infrastructure developments in the region, underscoring the railways’ commitment to improving connectivity and efficiency across ECR.
