Patna Cyber Police Arrests 4 Cyber Criminals for Rs 3 Crore Fraud

Patna: The Cyber Police in Patna have arrested four cyber criminals, including their mastermind, from the Jaganpura area in Ramakrishna Nagar. The gang had been duping people in the name of offering distributorships for solar plants, cheating victims of approximately Rs. 3 crore.

The kingpin of the gang hails from Sheikhpura district, while the other three members are from Telangana. During the raid, police recovered a laptop, six mobile phones, fake distributorship documents, transaction papers, and an ATM card from their hideout. The arrests were made late on Thursday night after tracking their location.

Cyber Police DSP Raghavendra Mani Tripathi revealed that the investigation began after receiving multiple complaints of fraud. Police tracked a series of phone numbers, most of which were switched off except one, which was intermittently active. The final location of this active number led the team to the gang’s hideout, where they apprehended the accused.

The arrested criminals have been misleading the police with conflicting statements during interrogation. According to the gang leader, they were brought to Patna from Telangana under the pretext of job offers and trained to communicate convincingly over the phone. Food and accommodation were provided by the mastermind.

Police suspect that 12 to 15 more cyber criminals from Telangana are currently operating in Patna in coordination with the mastermind.
