Ambulance Driver Kills Pregnant Wife in Begusarai, Disposes of Body and Reports for Duty
Begusarai: A tragic incident occurred in Begusarai, where Harshit Mahato, an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at the government ambulance service, allegedly killed his pregnant wife, Bindu Kumari, and disposed of her body before going to work. The body of Bindu, 20, was found in suspicious circumstances near Sanha Navtoliya in Sahebpur Kamal police station area.
According to the police, Bindu’s parents have accused Harshit of murdering their daughter. They claim that on the night of the incident, Harshit called Bindu out of her maternal home for money, then slit her throat before disposing of her body near the Sanha-Gorgama Awadh Tirhut road. After committing the crime, Harshit reportedly returned to his duty at Sadar Hospital.
The police took Harshit into custody for interrogation after receiving information about the body. The GPS data from the ambulance, however, revealed no travel to Sanha that night, raising suspicions about the circumstances of his actions. The police are investigating the case under the supervision of DSP Neha Kumari.
Further investigation revealed that there had been ongoing domestic issues between the couple since their marriage in March 2024. The police have sent the body for postmortem, and the FSL team has been called to examine the crime scene. Harshit remains in custody, and further actions will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
