Women's World Cup Kabaddi to Begin on March 7 in Rajgir, Bihar

Patna: The Women’s World Cup Kabaddi Championship is set to take place in Rajgir, Bihar, from March 7 to March 12. The matches will be held in the indoor hall of the Sports Complex in Rajgir, with teams from 15 countries participating. All teams are scheduled to arrive on March 5 and will be accommodated in the Sports Hostel in Rajgir. The indoor stadium is being prepared to meet international standards, with floodlights being installed to facilitate night matches.

Director General of the Bihar State Sports Authority, Ravindra Shankar, confirmed that international-standard mats are being installed in the stadium. Additional facilities, such as a VIP stand, player-changing rooms, and other amenities, are also being developed to match global standards. The stadium has a seating capacity of 5,500 spectators, ensuring ample space for fans to witness the matches.

On December 22, the President of the Asian Kabaddi Federation and the President of the Iran Kabaddi Association visited the venue to review the ongoing preparations. The delegation also held discussions with the Bihar State Sports Authority and conducted an on-site inspection of the stadium in Rajgir.

Fifteen countries, including India, Poland, Romania, Kenya, Uganda, Argentina, Iran, Chinese Taipei, Nepal, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Pakistan (subject to permission), will participate in the championship. The event is expected to be a grand celebration of women’s kabaddi on a global stage.
