New Auditorium to be built in Patna College with cost of Rs 20 Crore

Patna College Marks 163rd Foundation Day with Ceremony to Honour Top Students

Patna: A new state-of-the-art auditorium will be built at Patna College, part of Patna University, to enhance infrastructure and provide better facilities for students. The Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation has been entrusted with constructing the auditorium, with a budget of Rs 20 crore.

New Location and Enhanced Features

Initially planned near the new academic block, the university committee decided to relocate the auditorium to a site adjacent to Bhasha Bhawan. The revised plan includes increasing the seating capacity from 500 to 850, making it suitable for larger gatherings. The auditorium will feature modern amenities such as a large LED screen, soundproof walls, and an advanced sound system.

Vice Chancellor Ajay Kumar Singh confirmed that the project is moving forward, with the contractor selection process underway. “The new auditorium will provide a better platform for cultural activities and facilitate large-scale events,” Singh said.

A Platform for Artists and Cultural Activities

The auditorium is designed to cater to cultural programs and events organized by both the university and the college. It will include facilities for rehearsals and dedicated changing rooms for performers. The ground-floor structure will also have an open terrace on its roof, adding a multifunctional space.

The auditorium, designed in a C-shape, will be air-conditioned, offering a comfortable environment for students and faculty to enjoy various programs. “The new auditorium will provide artists with a better stage and create an environment conducive to creativity and performance,” added the Vice Chancellor.

Boosting Student Engagement

The new auditorium aims to bring students together to participate in and enjoy cultural activities in a modern, well-equipped setting. It reflects the university’s commitment to fostering creativity and improving campus infrastructure.
