Ravi Shankar Prasad Reviews Development Schemes in Patna District
Patna: A meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (Disha) was held at the Patna Collectorate under the chairmanship of Ravi Shankar Prasad. During the meeting, he expressed satisfaction with the successful implementation of developmental and public welfare schemes in the district. He acknowledged the collective efforts of experienced public representatives and officials, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, coordination, and transparency in achieving development goals.
Ravi Shankar Prasad appreciated the District Magistrate for his regular visits to various areas, gathering feedback from the public, and ensuring the resolution of their issues. He directed officials to expedite the completion of pending projects and create greater awareness about government schemes to maximize public benefit.
The District Magistrate welcomed the participants and highlighted that the meeting of Disha was now being held regularly. He reported compliance with the issues raised in previous meetings and assured prompt action on new concerns. He lauded the cooperation of public representatives in facilitating the district’s development and emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the implementation of schemes.
Significant progress was noted in several initiatives, including the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandan Yojana, Chief Minister Kanya Utthan Yojana, and Swachh Bharat Mission. The district recorded over 90 percent achievement in many schemes, with 135 percent in Kanya Utthan Yojana registration. Efforts under the Smart City Mission, Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, and Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal Yojana were also praised.
The meeting reviewed 39 major schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, and the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. Detailed reports were presented by officials, outlining the achievements and pending tasks. Ravi Shankar Prasad stressed the need for continuous improvement in public service delivery, especially in rural areas.
Special focus was given to projects like Saidpur Nala construction and road connectivity enhancements under NH-30 and NH-83. Officials were directed to prepare action plans for river and lake conservation in Punpun and other areas. The administration was also asked to ensure proper implementation of the Integrated Power Development Scheme and monitor public utilities in rural regions.
The District Magistrate reported that 566 schemes under the MP Local Area Development Scheme had been completed. Infrastructure developments under various schemes were progressing, with 490 roads constructed under the Chief Minister Gram Sampark Yojana and 45 bridges completed under NABARD. The district is also working on achieving 100 percent targets in solid and liquid waste management.
The National Health Mission has shown promising results, with 108 percent achievement in prenatal care and a significant number of institutional deliveries. Ayushman cards have been issued to over 18 lakh beneficiaries. The meeting emphasized the importance of organizing health camps and ensuring accessibility to essential services at the panchayat and ward levels.
Educational initiatives under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and PM Poshan Yojana were reviewed, with over 99 percent of textbooks distributed and regular inspections being carried out. Food security programs were reported to have surpassed targets, ensuring the availability of essential food grains to the priority and Antyodaya categories.
The committee discussed schemes related to skill development, housing, sanitation, and welfare, including the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana and the National Social Assistance Program. Strict monitoring and accountability were stressed to ensure the timely delivery of benefits.
The meeting concluded with directives to officials for better coordination with public representatives. The District Magistrate assured action on suggestions received during the meeting, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to transparency and sensitivity. Ravi Shankar Prasad highlighted the importance of collective efforts in driving positive change and improving the standard of living for all residents.
Several public representatives, including members of the Legislative Assembly, the Mayor, block heads, and officials, attended the meeting. They provided valuable insights and suggestions to further enhance the implementation of development programs in the district.
