Bihar Braces for Rain and Dense Fog Amid Severe Cold
Patna: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain across parts of Bihar on Sunday and Monday, as the state grapples with intense cold conditions. Light drizzle and cloudy skies are expected in districts including West Champaran, East Champaran, Siwan, Gopalganj, Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Bhabua, Aurangabad, and Arwal.
A brief respite from the cold is likely over the next 2–3 days, with minimum temperatures expected to rise by 2–3 degrees Celsius between January 13 and 15, according to the IMD. However, cold conditions will persist across the state.
A yellow alert has also been issued for dense fog in 18 districts on Sunday, including Nalanda, Nawada, Patna, Bhagalpur, Munger, Banka, Khagaria, and Jamui. Dense fog is predicted to linger in these areas for the next four days, making mornings particularly chilly.
The IMD noted that while northern and southwestern parts of the state may see light fog in the mornings, both minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to rise slightly over the next week.
