Patna: Prashant Kishore, the former poll strategist and Jan Suraj campaign convenor, has criticized Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s recent remarks on Gross Domestic Product (GDP), highlighting what he perceives as a lack of understanding on the subject. Kishore, known for his strategic political insights, took a jibe at the Deputy Chief Minister’s statement, questioning the leader’s educational background.
In a scathing commentary, Kishore remarked that the individual in question (Tejashwi), who didn’t attend school and failed while sitting at the back bench, is now asserting leadership. He also pointed out the leader’s apparent lack of knowledge about the spelling of ‘Vikas,’ emphasizing the difference between using a capital ‘E’ or a small ‘e’ in writing the word.
Kishore further referenced Tejashwi ‘s recent assertion that Bihar has the highest GDP, expressing doubt about the latter’s comprehension of the term. He highlighted Bihar’s actual standing in GDP rankings, stating that it holds the 28th position, making it the last in the country. Kishore questioned whether Tejashwi had confused GDP with GDP growth, suggesting that the Deputy Chief Minister might have misinterpreted information provided by officials regarding Bihar’s GDP growth.
Continuing his critique, Kishore proposed a novel idea – advocating for leaders to disclose the books they have read, akin to the requirement for them to reveal their assets. He argued that such a rule would provide insights into the intellectual pursuits of political leaders.
Kishore concluded by challenging Tejashwi to articulate the full form of GDP without consulting notes, asserting that only then would he acknowledge the deputy chief minister’s authority on the matter. Kishore highlighted what he perceives as a lack of educational qualifications and understanding on the part of Yadav, urging him to demonstrate a deep comprehension of economic concepts.
