Tearing Rahul Gandhi's Banner Shows Nitish-BJP Government's Disrespect for Constitution: Rajesh Rathore

Patna: Bihar Congress Media Department Chairman Rajesh Rathore has strongly criticized the tearing of banners depicting opposition leader Rahul Gandhi holding a copy of the Constitution. Rathore alleged that the act was carried out on the instructions of the state government and the Patna Municipal Corporation ahead of Gandhi’s visit to Bihar on January 18.

Rathore stated that Rahul Gandhi is set to participate in a non-political event, the Samvidhan Raksha Sammelan, organized by social organizations at Bapu Auditorium in Patna. He claimed that banners promoting the event and raising awareness about the Constitution were being removed with a “malicious mindset” by the municipal authorities under the Nitish-BJP government. According to Rathore, this action disrespects the Preamble of the Constitution and insults its creator, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, reflecting the government’s fear of Gandhi’s popularity.

He demanded an immediate halt to the removal of banners, calling it a blatant act of political vengeance that tarnishes Bihar’s image nationally. Rathore urged the state government to fulfill its responsibility towards public awareness and respect democratic traditions, rather than indulging in actions that undermine the Constitution and its values.
