Rajasthan Speaker Hospitalized During Patna Conference, Airlift to Jaipur Planned

Patna: Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani was rushed to the Indira Gandhi Institute of Cardiology (IGIC) at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) after his health deteriorated while attending the 85th All India Presiding Officers’ Conference (AIPOC) in Bihar’s capital.

Sudden Health Scare

The Speaker reported chest pain and discomfort around 8:30 a.m. on Monday, prompting immediate medical attention. Bihar Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav clarified the situation, stating: “Mr. Devnani experienced chest pain and gastric issues but did not suffer a heart attack. Although his condition has stabilized, arrangements are being made to send him back to Rajasthan for further care.”

Plans for Airlift to Jaipur

Sushil Kumar Sharma, Deputy Secretary of the Rajasthan Assembly, provided additional details: “The Speaker faced severe gastric discomfort, which caused significant unease. After medical consultation and angiography at IGIC, we have decided to take him back to Rajasthan. His condition is stable, and he may be transported to Jaipur in a special aircraft.”

The 85th AIPOC, a key event for political leaders across the nation, took an unexpected turn with Mr. Devnani’s health scare. Updates on his recovery and travel arrangements are awaited.
