Patna Municipal Corporation Steps Up Efforts to Improve Air Quality and Cleanliness
Patna: In a bid to enhance its position in Swachh Survekshan 2025 and maintain air quality, the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) is intensifying its cleaning efforts, including road washing and sprinkling. To tackle construction and demolition (C&D) waste, PMC has announced night-time operations, starting with a mock drill on Monday at 10 pm, under the leadership of Municipal Commissioner.
The initiative aims to curb air pollution by ensuring the continuous removal of C&D waste from city roads. According to PMC, any construction materials found during the operations will be confiscated, and fines will be imposed on violators.
19 Teams to Take Part in Mock Drill
The mock drill will commence from the Boring Road intersection, where 19 teams will be dispatched to various city wards. Each team will inspect for construction materials and ensure immediate action, including confiscation.
The operation will involve a coordinated effort, with participation from Joint Municipal Commissioners, Deputy Municipal Commissioners, Executive Officers of all zones, sanitation officials, city managers, and sweeping machine monitoring staff. Equipped with vehicles, including Tata 407 trucks, all 19 teams will leave together to ensure comprehensive coverage.
This initiative is part of PMC’s larger strategy to maintain cleanliness and reduce air pollution, reinforcing its commitment to creating a cleaner and healthier city.
