Bihar Tourism Department Holds Pre-Bid Meeting for Construction of Three Five-Star Hotels in Patna

Patna: A pre-bid meeting was held at the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) office in Sikh Heritage Bhawan, Daroga Rai Path, Patna, for the construction of three five-star hotels in the state capital. The meeting, chaired by Tourism Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh, saw the participation of prominent hotel construction companies and investors, both online and in person. The Secretary emphasized the state government’s commitment to providing all necessary support for the construction and operation of these hotels, given the rising number of tourists and an improved industrial environment in Bihar. Investors were encouraged to submit additional queries online within two days, which will be addressed before moving forward with the tender process.

During the meeting, BSTDC Managing Director Nandkishore welcomed the investors and presented detailed information regarding the projects. It was highlighted that the state cabinet has approved the construction of these hotels under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. An e-tender has been issued by the Tourism Department through BSTDC to select developers for three prime locations in Patna: Hotel Pataliputra Ashok on Birchand Patel Path (1.50 acres), Sultan Palace Complex on Birchand Patel Path (4.89 acres), and Bankipur Bus Stand Complex (3.24 acres).

The developers selected through the tender process will receive lease rights for 90 years, including an initial 60 years and an automatic renewal for 30 additional years. These five-star hotels are expected to significantly enhance the state’s tourism infrastructure. Senior officials from BSTDC, including the General Manager and Chief Engineer, were also present at the meeting.
