BAU Student Awarded Prestigious NAAS Scholarship to Promote Gender Equality in Agriculture

Sabour: Sakshi Kumari, a first-year student at Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), has been selected for the prestigious ‘Smt. Kanak Aggarwal NAAS Girls Scholarship’. This prestigious scholarship, awarded by the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS) in collaboration with Crystal Crop Protection Ltd., aims to promote gender equality in agricultural education.

The monthly scholarship program is designed to support meritorious female students pursuing undergraduate agriculture degrees across India. Only 21 scholarships are awarded each year, making Ms. Sakshi Kumari’s selection a significant achievement for BAU and the state of Bihar.

This scholarship will provide financial assistance to Sakshi Kumari, enabling her to excel in her studies and contribute to the agricultural sector. This recognition underscores the university’s commitment to fostering a gender-inclusive environment and empowering young women to pursue careers in agriculture.

BAU is proud of Kumari’s accomplishment and believes that this achievement will inspire other young women in the region to pursue higher education in agriculture and contribute to India’s food security.
