Dense Fog Alert Issued for 19 Districts in Bihar

Patna: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for dense fog in 19 districts of Bihar over the next 48 hours. The affected districts include West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Muzaffarpur, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Vaishali, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Supaul, Saharsa, Madhepura, Araria, Purnia, Kishanganj, and Katihar.

Meanwhile, light to moderate fog is expected in Patna, Gaya, Nawada, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Begusarai, and Jehanabad, though no official alert has been issued for these areas.

Temperature Fluctuations Expected

According to the IMD, the minimum temperature in most parts of the state is expected to rise by 2-3°C, with maximum temperatures ranging between 22-24°C and minimum temperatures between 8-13°C. Slow westerly winds are also likely, with morning visibility expected to be 90-95%, dropping to 65-75% in the afternoon.

IMD scientist Kumar Gaurav stated that moderate to dense fog will persist in the mornings, with significant temperature fluctuations throughout the day. While cold conditions will be more pronounced during the morning and evening hours, clear skies and sunshine in the afternoon will provide some relief.
