Bodh Mahotsav Begins at Kalachakra Ground in Bodh Gaya

Bodh Gaya: A three-day Bodh Mahotsav is set to begin at 5 PM on Friday at Kalachakra Ground in Bodh Gaya. The event will be inaugurated by the state’s deputy CM and other dignitaries. The festival will feature cultural performances by artists from various countries, showcasing a blend of Indian and international traditions.

The opening day will commence with a performance by Vietnamese artists, followed by a Bharatnatyam recital titled Yashodhara by Dr. N. Vijayalakshmi, Additional Chief Secretary of the Animal and Fisheries Resources Department, Government of Bihar. Cambodian artists will also perform, and the evening will conclude with a musical presentation by Bollywood playback singer Ankit Tiwari.

On Saturday, the cultural program will feature singing performances by Harshpreet Kaur and Arzoo Mishra, a Kathak dance by Prachi Pallavi Sahu, and presentations by artists from Thailand and Japan. Additionally, Dr. Rita Das will perform a Saroj recital, and the evening will conclude with a Sufi singing session by Jyoti Noorani.

The festival will conclude on Sunday with Sur Salila by Rajendra Sijuar, a Sufi performance by Vinod Ganwar, and an Odissi dance by Ramindra Khurana. Artists from Cambodia and Sri Lanka will also perform, followed by a Maithili folk music session by Bihar’s Maithili Thakur and a closing performance by Bollywood singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya.

To ensure security, City SP, along with Bodh Gaya DSP and SHO, conducted an inspection of the festival venue on Thursday. Security arrangements were reviewed at Kalachakra Ground, Mahabodhi Temple, and surrounding areas to ensure a smooth and peaceful event.
