Patna: The third day of Chhath Puja unfolded as a celestial panorama, with devotees converging at Ganga Ghat in Patna and various Bihar locales for the sacred Arghya to the setting Sun. Amidst this tapestry of religious fervor, political leaders illuminated the occasion, paying homage to the Sun God and extending warm Chhath greetings.
Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlakar and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar navigated the river Ganga on a steamer, visiting Chhath Ghats from Nasriganj Ghat at Danapur to Gaighat at Patna City. Ahead of their Ghats sojourn, CM Nitish, flanked by close family, conducted the Arghya ritual at 1 Anne Marg residence, invoking blessings from the Sun God.
While the ruling RJD’s first family did not celebrate Chhath festivities this year, party president Lalu Prasad extended heartfelt wishes for Bihar’s progress from Chhathi Maiya, highlighting the festival’s international stature. “Everyone celebrates Chhath Vrat with great devotion. During this festival, we observe complete abstinence and take special care of cleanliness,” he said.
Minister Tej Pratap Yadav, Lalu’s elder son, visited various Chhath Ghats in the Pataliputra parliamentary constituency, spanning western Patna, Danapur, Maner, and adjoining areas.
Vinod Tawde, BJP’s National General Secretary and party’s Bihar in-charge, offered Arghya at Kachchi Talab Gardnibagh Ghat, conveying good wishes to Bihar’s denizens.
Bihar BJP President Samrat Chaudhary performed Arghya in Lakhanpur village in Munger.
LJP (Ram Vilas) National President and Jamui MP Chirag Paswan immersed in Chhath festivities with family in Patna, symbolizing a celebration of faith and unity amidst the political spectrum.
