Swarn India CMD Anil Kumar Chaudhary Arrested in Noida
Darbhanga: Bihar Police achieved a major breakthrough with the arrest of Anil Kumar Chaudhary, the absconding CMD of Swarn India Private Limited, from Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Chaudhary, a resident of Maurnisth village in Muzaffarpur district, had been evading the authorities since 2018 in connection with a multi-crore fraud case.
The arrest was made following a tip-off received by the Darbhanga Police. City SHO Arvind Kumar confirmed that a team, acting on the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jagunath Reddy Jalareddy, conducted a raid in Noida with assistance from the local police and successfully nabbed Chaudhary. A mobile phone was also seized from him, and authorities are currently analyzing its contents for further leads.
Chaudhary had managed to escape during a previous raid in Delhi on May 14, 2023. However, during that operation, his wife, Sunita Chaudhary, and an associate, Sonu Kumar Chaudhary, were arrested. The police had seized crucial evidence from them, including 26 company-related files, 36 checkbooks from various banks, a laptop, four hard disks, 26 seals, and several other documents.
The Swarn India Pvt Ltd CMD and several of his associates have been accused of defrauding people across multiple districts in North Bihar, including Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Bettiah, and Motihari. The scam came to light when a resident of Ratnopatti, Ranjit Paswan, filed an FIR in Darbhanga. Subsequently, several other victims lodged complaints, revealing that the company had lured investors by promising high-interest returns and then absconded with over ₹5 crore.
Police officials stated that all named accused in the case have now been arrested, and a charge sheet will be filed soon. The company’s main office in Muzaffarpur’s Aghoria Bazar Sahu Market and its branches in various districts were also under investigation.
