Patna to Get Multi-Modal Hub, Model Vending Zone, Elevated Road Near Airport

Patna: Preparations are underway for the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Pragati Yatra on February 21 in Patna district, where projects worth approximately Rs 1,350 crore will be inaugurated and new schemes will be launched. The initiatives aim to enhance infrastructure in both urban and rural areas of the district.

Among the key projects set for inauguration are a multi-modal hub and a model vending zone in Patna city. Additionally, an announcement is expected for the construction of an elevated road near the airport to manage increasing passenger traffic following the opening of the new terminal at Patna airport.

In rural Patna, a new road will be built to connect the Bihta-Sarmera road with Daniyawan’s Top. For the past six to seven years, residents of Naubatpur have been demanding a flyover near Nispura Lakh, and discussions are ongoing for its approval during the Pragati Yatra. Another likely announcement is the construction of a new road on the Son Security Embankment.

Additionally, a decision is expected on upgrading the Bihta-Maner road to a four-lane highway as part of the Patna Ring Road project. According to sources, 21 different government departments have contributed to the implementation of various projects, with completed schemes set for inauguration.

Under the MNREGA scheme, several large ponds and lakes have been developed in rural areas, while water reservoirs have been renovated under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Yojana. Infrastructure projects worth approximately Rs 750 crore, including road construction and improvements under the Road Construction Department, will also be launched.
