Bihar State Productivity Council Holds Discussion On Intellectual Property Rights For Startups

Patna: The Bihar State Productivity Council (BSPC) organised a table talk on “Protecting Intellectual Property Rights for Competitive Startups” at Bollywood Retreat Hall, Hotel Maurya here on Sunday. The event, held from 2 pm to 5 pm, was attended by around 20 participants, including office bearers and dignitaries.

BSPC President D.K. Srivastava welcomed the attendees and set the stage for discussions on the importance of intellectual property protection for startups. Secretary Basant Kumar Sinha provided a brief overview of the council’s performance over the past year.

The event also marked key appointments within the organisation. Nilesh Narayan and Dr A.K. Verma were introduced as new members, while executive members decided to appoint Rupesh Raj as Vice President. Dr Nilesh Narayan was named Joint Director (Programme), and Dr A.K. Verma was given charge as Senior Director (Programme).

Discussions also focused on expanding BSPC’s membership and increasing the frequency of its programmes, with plans to organise events fortnightly. Additionally, the council acknowledged a recent proposal from the National Productivity Council, Patna, to conduct seminars on lean management, particularly targeting SMEs.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Joint Director B.K. Sahay.
