Patna: The impact of a western disturbance over Bihar is expected to bring snowfall to the mountains and light rainfall in the plains. Additionally, a cyclonic circulation persists over West Rajasthan and Northeast Assam, but it will not significantly alter the state’s temperature, apart from some cloud movement.
According to the weather department, Bihar will witness a gradual rise of two to three degrees Celsius in the minimum temperature after two days. However, the maximum temperature is expected to remain stable for the next three to four days. Any dip in temperature will likely be caused by rainfall.
A yellow alert has been issued for February 23 due to the possibility of lightning, thunder, and light rain in one or two places across 16 districts: Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, Begusarai, Khagaria, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Munger, Lakhisarai, Jamui, Sheikhpura, Nawada, and Gaya.
Authorities have advised farmers to remain cautious and avoid open fields during rainfall to prevent risks associated with lightning. It is recommended that they visit their fields only after the rain subsides.
The weather in Bihar remained normal today, with sunny conditions prevailing in the afternoon. Cloud cover was observed in districts near Bhagalpur, but no immediate rainfall is expected.
On Tuesday, an increase in minimum temperature was recorded in 13 cities, including Patna, while some other districts saw a temperature dip. Patna registered a minimum temperature of 16.5°C, while Agwanpur in Saharsa recorded the lowest at 9.1°C. The maximum temperature in Patna was 29.0°C, with Dehri being the hottest at 31.2°C.
The weather in Patna and surrounding areas remained dry, though mild cold conditions persisted in the morning and evening due to westerly winds.
