Bihar Weather Update: Rain Expected in Several Districts, Farmers Advised to Be Cautious

Patna: The weather in Bihar is expected to change once again, prompting authorities to issue advisories, particularly for farmers. The Meteorological Department has warned of rain and thunderstorms in certain districts, urging residents, especially farmers, to exercise caution and avoid open areas.

A yellow alert has been issued for light rain in Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Munger, and Khagaria on Thursday. Additionally, thunder and lightning are expected in Banka and Bhagalpur. However, the weather in the southern parts of the state, including Patna, will remain stable with cloud cover.

On Sunday, February 18, the Meteorological Department predicts light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in Gaya, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Nawada, Begusarai, and Lakhisarai. Most eastern districts are also likely to experience similar weather conditions.

In the next two days, the minimum temperature is expected to decrease by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature will remain unchanged for the next three to four days. On February 22, light rainfall is anticipated in some areas of the south-central region, including Patna. The changing weather conditions are attributed to the formation of a cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam.

Temperature Trends on Wednesday

On Wednesday, an increase in temperature was observed across most districts except Chhapra, Bhojpur, Buxar, Dehri, and Kishanganj.

• Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 29.4°C.
• Khagaria recorded the highest temperature at 31.7°C.
• The minimum temperature in Patna was 17.5°C.
• Agwanpur in Saharsa recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 10.5°C.

The weather in Patna and nearby areas remained normal with a partly cloudy sky on Wednesday.
