East Central Railway Reviews Crowd Management For Mahakumbh 2025

Patna: For ongoing Mahakumbh Mela 2025, East Central Railway’s General Manager, Chhatrasal Singh, along with senior department officials, visited the war room at PRP to assess crowd management measures at key railway stations under its jurisdiction. The review aimed to ensure smooth travel for the massive influx of devotees attending the religious gathering.
During the assessment, the General Manager instructed officials to take all necessary steps to enhance passenger convenience, including the operation of additional special trains as required.
So far, East Central Railway has deployed 757 Kumbh Mela special trains from various stations to accommodate the growing number of pilgrims. Additionally, 19 major railway stations have been equipped with dedicated holding areas featuring essential facilities such as accommodation, food services, and waiting areas, ensuring passengers have a comfortable transit experience.
To maintain order and security at these stations, strict arrangements have been put in place. The Railway Protection Force (RPF), District Police, and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) have been deployed in significant numbers. Passengers are being systematically guided onto trains with the assistance of the RPF to prevent overcrowding and ensure a hassle-free journey.
As Mahakumbh 2025 continues to draw large crowds, East Central Railway remains committed to efficient crowd management and passenger safety through strategic planning and enhanced services.
