Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Backs PM Modi, Targets RJD at Bhagalpur Rally

Bhagalpur: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday reaffirmed his alliance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, delivering a sharp attack on the opposition while addressing a massive gathering in Bhagalpur. Sharing the stage with Modi, Nitish praised the Prime Minister’s leadership and contrasted it with the state’s situation before 2005, when the RJD was in power.

Nitish Kumar’s Full Support for Modi

Nitish, who has shifted alliances multiple times in recent years, made it clear that he is firmly with the BJP-led NDA. “Now, there will be no more uncertainty. The entire country is progressing under the leadership of Narendra Modi ji, and we are with him. We will continue to support him,” he said.

Emphasizing Bihar’s development under his government, Nitish said, “Before 2005, no one dared to step out of their homes after evening. The situation was chaotic, and crime was rampant. There was an atmosphere of fear and division. Today, there is peace, development, and an environment of brotherhood.”

Targeting RJD’s Past Rule

Taking an indirect dig at his former ally, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, Nitish accused past governments of exploiting religious divisions without delivering real development. “Earlier, these people took Muslim votes but did nothing for them. They instigated Hindu-Muslim conflicts, creating unrest in society. Today, there are no such fights. We have worked for people of all castes and religions,” he said.

The Bhagalpur event was not just about inaugurating development projects worth Rs 24,000 crore but also about Nitish reinforcing his role in the NDA’s Bihar strategy. His statements signaled his intent to remain a key player in Bihar politics under PM Modi’s leadership.
